Do not go where the path may lead, go instead
where there is no path and leave a trail.

After graduation: Graduated high school, attended Pepperdine University, then went to San Diego State, had to drop out due to medical condition. Worked for a year, went to Hawaii with my roommate from College, Karen Brekke. Her father worked for the University of Hawaii, Agricultural Department. Her little brother, John Brekke, and I loved the beach. We told the beachboys we were sister and brother. Said he was 13 and I was 14 and we wanted to learn to surf. We had fun and I ended up working on beach as the first female beachgirl. I worked with several of the old timers and enjoyed my year and half on the beach. We moved to Kailua and I had to commute to Waikiki, daily for work. I wore a mumu to work, was adorned with a fresh lei daily & a swimsuit underneath so I could surf, sail & work the outrigger. It was a great time of my life. While I was there I constantly meet the most interesting people. I could go on for years about those people and those experiences. I did meet a personal manager, Paul, he suggested I try to get in the movies. I said I was not interested that I wanted to go back to school and travel. He suggested I could earn money for both by working in films. He asked me to call him when I traveled back thru California. I did just that. He was delighted and said I should enter a "Bikini Contest" at American International Pictures the very next day. If I won I would get one days work in the movie, Bikini Beach. I entered the contest and won. They took me directly to the set and introduced me to the director, Willian Asher, the stars and everyone there. The director put me in front of the camera and I stayed the entire day. That evening they called Paul and said I was great in the dailies and they wanted to sign me to a contract. My name was changed to Patti Chandler and my career began. I was in that business for several years. Then I went back to school, got a scholarship at USC for Chemistry. I was a avid tennis player. And one of my partners suggested I apply to be a stewardess at TWA. I did and was hired on the spot. I went to Kansas City for Training. After training I was given 4 days to move to New York and set up housekeeping. I was flying international the first year. I was with TWA for several years. I took early retirement and went on to work for America West Airlines, a Phoenix based company. America West Airlines got the financing and did a reverse aquisition of US Airways. I am currently working for them.
